Teaching Assistant - Preston

Date posted : 19/02/19
£9.00 - £9.05 per hour

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

I am looking for a TA to offer support to pupils with Autism and challenging behaviours in a specialist school in Preston.

The roles will be on a long-term basis and could lead to a permanent position. The working hours will be 8:30am - 4:00pm and the Head Teacher has advised she can accept someone for 3 or 5 days per week, depending on your own preference.

The school adopts a multidisciplinary approach to education using the best practice including models such as TEACCH and active learning programmes. Pupils learn how to develop effective learning strategies to overcome their difficulties in social and emotional processing, communication and flexibility in thinking and behaviour. All students have access to the National Curriculum, which is adapted and modified according to the individual needs and abilities of each pupil.

The individual must have experience of working in a SEN school and if he/she were Team Teach trained that would be a bonus (but not essential).

The school is a specialist school which provides education for children between the ages of 7 and 18, therefore you must be confident working across the age ranges.

The school caters for pupils with a range of needs including Autism, challenging behaviours and Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties.

The rate of pay will be between £58.50-£67.50 per day.

The roles are to start ASAP therefore I must hear from you quickly if you wish to be considered.

I must stress that behaviour in school can be very challenging, therefore you must have strong behaviour management.

Please contact me ASAP if interested.
