Teaching Assistant (PEG feeding trained) - Tameside

A Primary Special Needs School in Tameside are currently recruiting for a PEG feeding trained Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. Initially, the position is temporary for the first school term September 2019 - December, however there could be an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The school caters for pupils who have a statement of special needs or EHC plan. The pupils who attend the school may have: severe, profound, multiple learning difficulties and or ASC. The role will involve working within the schools IB base with pupils with profound learning difficulties. The pupils in this base have a variety of complex medical needs so the school have requested that the successful teaching assistant should be PEG feeding trained.

The ideal teaching assistant will have:

  • A level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (level 3 desirable)
  • PEG feeding training
  • Experience working within a special needs setting (preferably school)
  • A commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all pupils
  • Experience of delivering targeted intervention to pupils with ASC
