Teaching Assistant Position: SEN School Reading

£54-£70

Do you love working with children?

Are you experienced or looking to start to get into a Teaching Assistant role?

The School and Job Teaching Personnel have a long standing relationship with this School in Reading. The school has an average of 100 pupils on roll. They cater for boys and girls with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs with additional special needs such as Autism and Complex Learning Needs. The School has an in-house team of qualified therapists offering Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration.

You will be working as a Teaching Assistant responsible for supporting termly topics across the class of 4-8 students and also 1:1 support.

The most important trait that prospective applicants should have is an engaging personality and a willingness to help. Applicants with a good attitude to work and the ability to be pro-active will thrive in this SEN school.

Minimum Requirements

  • Any relevant SEN/Autism experience or qualifications is desired, however not essential so please still apply.
  • A passion and enthusiasm to see pupils achieve their best potential
  • Dedication to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support
  • A Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or one done through Teaching Personnel
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Enjoys a challenge
