Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in the Derby area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with ASD experience/qualifications to work 1:1 with an autistic male student in Y7. You will be supporting a student with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and assisting the student with classwork, behaviour management and helping him with his daily routine.
Duties:
- Providing 1:1 support
- Establishing good relationships with all students and staff
Key Skills:
- Qualified to Level 2 as a Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) OR have relevant experience/interest in working with children within an SEN setting or with Autism
- Have an understanding of the National Curriculum
- Have the confidence to address conflict and challenging behaviour
- Be willing to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team
