Teaching Assistant
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
A school in Harrogate need a TA to assist in their Year 5 class for 4 days a week, beginning in September and continuing until at least the Christmas holidays 2020.
The school in question was graded as GOOD at their last inspection 6 years ago, and have remained consistent in terms of results and good behaviour across the school. This has largely been achieved by the Head building a good structure of staff who have been at the school for a number of years.
The school require someone to provide extra support in their Year 5 class, initially on a part-time basis until the end of the calendar year. This is because inevitably children will be behind where they should be due to the enforced lockdown, and not all students having access to remote learning. The school feel that having an extra emphasis on getting back up to speed from school's return in September will mean that the children do not lose out on this vital learning in the long run.
The Head hopes that having a TA with intervention experience in the class at least 4 days a week will benefit the learning of the children immensely and mean they are sufficiently caught up. Of course this means that the booking may be extended depending on the progress the students show. Obviously a lot of the role is general class TA work, but involves taking daily groups of children for more small group work to benefit their progress.
If this sounds like the role for you then please apply where indicated and we will be in touch.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
