We are working with a head of a large secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Porth, who are looking for two highly driven teaching assistants to work throughout various provisions in the school. The school enforces a strict behavioural ethos and are looking for pro-active and adaptable support staff to implement this across several areas of the school.

  • September start
  • Full time role
  • Overtime offered for working lunch cover and after school clubs

As part of the team you can be expected to work 1:1 with pupils with challenging behaviour and in need of additional emotional support throughout both academic and social aspects of school life. You will also mentor small groups and form strong bonds with the pupils who are in need of positive role models.

The school are looking for high calibre candidates who showcase the following attributes

  • Can make calm, rational decisions under pressure
  • Are adaptable and willing to go the extra mile
  • Are wanting to progress and take advantage of the opportunities the school has to offer
  • Can work well as a team but also use their own initiative

The school has moved into a new state of the art facility in Spring which means that this is an exciting time to join. As part of the new building, you will be able to enjoy the incredible new sports facilities and behavioural units complete with advanced ICT hubs and classrooms.

The school is highly supportive of PGCE applicants and those wanting to gain experience to go into specific sectors of youth work. Historically, candidates who have done well in the school over a trial for one term have been successful in securing a permanent contract with the school.
