Role: KS1 TA

Location: Spennymoor

Start: September

Teaching Personnel is working with a great school in the Spennymoor area for a teaching assistant to in September. The school is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and since joining the school in 2017 the Head Teacher has been making great strides with the teaching quality in school.

The school is in the heart of Spennymoor and is easily accessible through local transport public transport links. You will be working predominantly in KS1, at times you may be supporting lower KS2 so experience in these age groups would be beneficial. This is a full time role starting in September and would be for 2 terms, with possibility of extension for the right candidate.

This teaching assistant role is to support children independently or in small groups whilst working alongside the teacher to create a nurturing learning space. Your responsibilities will be:

  • To be calm under pressure, adaptable and enthusiastic
  • To be compassionate, have a positive attitude and encouraging
  • Good listening ability and to be sensitive to pupils’ individuals needs
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills
  • Supporting with Literacy and Maths
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing guidance where needed
  • Preparing the classroom and assisting the teacher with other duties
