SEN Teaching Assistant
The school is a secondary school for learners aged between 11 and 19 who have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. We have a focus and passion for supporting our young people to be independent, confident and ready to overcome any challenges they may face. It is our genuine pleasure to witness the determination and successes that our young people demonstrate every day.
The school require positive individuals which can make a palpable impact on the students at the school. The perfect candidate should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. The candidate should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goal.
The school will consider applications from candidates who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.
What does a typical day look like?
• Work with children who have SEN & SEMH needs
• Engage young people with a variety of barriers to their learning
• Inspire the hope for a better future What are we looking for?
• 2-years minimum experience in SEN/education
• Commitment and understanding of Safeguarding
• Experience in engaging young people with often complex & challenging behaviours
• Availability of at least 4 days per week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
