About the school:

The specialist unit based in the Lymington caters for pupils aged 5 - 25 years of age with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school work in an exclusive partnership with further education and NHS child and adolescent mental health units.

This provision provides a broad curriculum, which includes both academic and vocational services to educate male and female pupils, including:

  • Accounting
  • Animal Care
  • Construction / Motor Vehicle Maintenance
  • Music
  • Health and Social Care
  • Maths
  • Textiles

The school is accessible by both public and personal transport, however having access to your own vehicle is favourable as the provision. (Parking on site)

About the role:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 08.30 - 15.30
  • £9.00 - £11.00 per hour (Dependant on experience)
  • Term time work

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a resilient nature, with confidence and flexibility to engage with learners with complex needs and learning abilities. Must be able demonstrate strong organisation and management skills are important, as learners will require structured support to help them engage with education.

Required education/experience:

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (A-C)
  • Any type of further education is preferable (A-Levels/Bachelors/Masters/PGCE)
  • Transferable training: Makaton, Team Teach, Moving and Handling or Application of Medication
  • SEN experience: Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Asperger's, ADHD, OCD, Disruptive or disengaged behaviour
