Teaching Personnel are currently supporting Teaching Assistants and aspiring teachers to gain invaluable experience within the Oldham LEA on a regular, flexible basis.

-          Full time and part time Teaching Assistant opportunities available

-          Gain an introduction to Secondary schools within the Oldham LEA, supporting pupils and working alongside class teachers.

-          Work around your availability/studies – flexible working days

-          Gain invaluable experience prior to completing PGCE/teacher training

*Some previous experience working with children and young people is essential to be considered for this position*

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with Secondary Schools across the Oldham LEA, whereby requirements for Teaching Assistants range from day to day and short term needs, to full time fixed term Teaching Assistant positions. If you are wishing to gain an insight into a number of Secondary schools and build experience prior to completing a teacher training course or furthering studies, this position is perfect for you.

Role and Responsibilities

-          Supporting students in class, under the guidance of the class teacher

-          Working with pupils outside of the classroom, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis

-          Recording and reporting behaviour and implementing classroom behaviour policies

-          Tracking progress and feeding back to Senior Leaders (SENCO)
