Teaching Assistant

We are currently working with an ‘Outstanding’ specialist support school in Radcliffe, Bury and they are currently looking to employ a Teaching Assistant to support in a year 6 class for young people with severe learning difficulties. This post is due to begin in September 2020. 

Ideally the successful candidate will have the relevant training and experience of working in special education.  This school is looking for a candidate who will be able to continue the ‘Outstanding’ reputation this school has and continue to provide support to pupils within a broad, creative and inspiring curriculum. This school has a large focus on promoting and developing life skills and as such the successful candidate would need to be motivated, passionate and have the right attitude to help support the children through their educational journey.

Working as a Teaching assistant within this school you would be required to work with children with a variety of needs as well as supporting those pupils through 1:1 support, helping them develop their academic and life skills.  You will be required to support the classroom teacher by developing positive relationships with the students helping the teacher deliver the ‘outstanding’ lessons that are provided.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience with children with ASD, PMLD, SLD in Educational environments.
• A passion to improve the lives of students through a variety of teaching techniques.
• Enthusiasm and a passion for continued improvement for the students and yourself.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
