Teaching Assistant

Penzance

Pay (per day) - GBP60 - GBP65

We are currently looking to recruit a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join Teaching Personnel. The Teaching Assistant will be working in a school based in Penzance on a long term role. The school is located on the outskirts of Penzance and your role will be to work 1:1 with a child with additional educational needs.

Teaching Personnel are a supply agency that works on both long term and short term bookings and can offer full and part time working weeks. When registering with TP you will work closely with one of our consultants, who will assist your registration, and work on your behalf during the application process. We can offer CPD training at a discounted price and additional training for the right candidates before the job role begins. You have access to our free Safeguarding and Prevent training and can utilise our free CV writing service as much as you like.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To support classroom teachers in the delivery of classroom lessons and related educational activities so that students make expected or better progress academically, socially and emotionally.
  • To provide general support to the class teacher
  • To use behaviour management strategies effectively
  • To ensure no child is left out and all children are given the same opportunities
  • To manage delegated tasks at the school as set by the class teacher
  • To practise good behaviour management and ensure all children are protected within the classroom
  • To represent the school in a positive way and provide an excellent attitude to each task

Person Specification (Essential)

  • Evidence of successfully working with young people, preferably within a school
  • Awareness of safeguarding young people
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviour
  • Good communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
