Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for Teaching Assistant to work with children and young people who have a additional needs and challenging behaviours. The roles are full time, 8:30-3:30 5 days a week.

You will be responsible for assisting the class teacher and providing one-to-one / group support to students in and out of the classroom setting. These pupils are removed from mainstream education and have timetables suited to their needs to encourage positive behaviours and relationships.

The ideal applicant will have prior experience working in the classroom and have the ability to support children and teenagers with SEN; in particular those with Autism, Asperger's, Social Emotional & Mental Health or behavioural issues.

These roles may require you to go out on different activities with the children to engage them with different curriculum based learning set out for their individual needs. This requires the candidates to be able to drive with access to their own vehicle.

If you already have a DBS in child workforce that is on the update service then your documents can be processed faster. However if not then we can support you through the process.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
