1:1 Teaching Assistant
£13.75 - £16 per hour

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a brilliant and exciting Teaching Assistant opportunity running for the full academic year starting in September. The school is based in the CF39 area and they have additional funding available as they have a student with intense additional learning needs who would need 1:1 support through their education. Interviews are being held online over the next few weeks for applicants who are successful.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Overview:

  • Supporting a student in KS3 with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Work as part of a team of support staff
  • Reading out work and breaking down tasks set by subject teachers
  • Management of any challenging behaviours
  • Keeping student task-focused

The successful applicant will be paired with a specific pupil who has more severe additional learning needs who requires support on a 1:1 basis around the clock during their time at school. The primary responsibility of this student will fall to the successful applicant and therefore somebody with experience supporting vulnerable adults and or children on a 1:1 basis is extremely desirable. Direct experience of working in a school or as a teaching assistant previously is not required, applicants with alternative professions such as sports coaches, care/support work and similar roles with transferable skills are considered. Patience, understanding, and behavioural management are key components of a successful applicant.

1:1 Teaching Assistance Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS certificate available on the update service
  • Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Have a passion for education
  • Patient and caring nature
  • Able to provide 2 relevant references
