Job Vacancy:= Teaching Assistant (SEN Support)
Location: East Birmingham
Contract: Full-time | Term-time only - Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £105 per day

Teaching Personnel is working with a school based on the East side of Birmingham in the Stechford area, who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team on a long term basis, with an immediate start. The school has recently been rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted, and is one the most improved schools in the city with a great reputation.The school is a mainstram school but is looking for someone to join their SEN department, and support some of theur more vulnerable learners; inlcuding those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

Responsibilties:

  • Provide tailored, consistent support to a specific student based on their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) or individual needs
  • Help them access learning across the curriculum by adapting tasks and instructions.
  • Implement strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive choices
  • Support the development of emotional regulation and coping skill
  • Build trusting relationships to help the student feel safe and understood.
  • Encourage the development of self-esteem, confidence, and social skills

 

Experience within schools is not essentialThe school will consider staff from various backgrounds including:

  • Graduates & Aspiring Teachers
  • Sports Coaches
  • Previous TA Experience
  • Mental Health Support Workers 
  • Care Workers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
