Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to progress in your education career? Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a warm, inclusive primary school in Swinton that is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team this January.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful contribution within a school that values creativity, teamwork, and high expectations. As an HLTA, you will support learning across the curriculum, lead small group interventions, and deliver whole-class teaching when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of lessons across a range of year groups.
• Lead targeted intervention groups and deliver whole-class sessions when necessary.
• Assist in monitoring pupil progress and providing relevant, constructive feedback.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Candidate Requirements

• HLTA qualification (Level 4 or equivalent).
• Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., autism, dyslexia, speech and language needs).
• Confidence using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to a variety of classroom scenarios.
