KS1 Teaching Assistant – Phonics – Stockton-on-Tees
January 2021 – Full Time
Would you like to join a vibrant school currently seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant? Do you have experience and knowledge of Phonics?
Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced and creative KS1 Teaching Assistant with Phonics experience to join a class that are in the process of catching up with the curriculum. The School is based in Stockton-on-Tees and boasts excellent access to local transportation as well as a car park on school grounds. This is a fantastic opportunity to become involved with a School marked ‘Good’ by Ofsted who pride themselves in their engaging method of Teaching. The position is Full Time for two terms with the possibility of leading on to a permanent position. The role involves assisting the Teacher to support and educate a class of 28 pupils who are currently making excellent progress working within KS1.
Essentials:
- Valid DBS (A Child Workforce certificate that is registered and accessible through the Update Service)
- Eligible to work in the UK (right to work in the UK documentation)
- Recent experience with Phonics
- Relevant Level 2 Qualification or higher
- SEN experience desirable but not essential
Details of role:
- Supporting the Class Teacher to educate 28 pupils who are currently in preparation for potential May assessments
- Have an awareness of and work within school policies and procedures
- Full time role commencing January 2021
- Will be required to complete administrative duties, such as preparing classroom resources and assist in the preparation of lesson plans.
- Provide support to children who need additional help with their work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
