Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Opportunities via Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about supporting children and young adults with special educational needs?

If you answered yes, then this job opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant will be for you! A new special education free school in Salisbury is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

 

The Role:

You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support and care to students ranging in the ages 4-16 years old, with various SEN needs such as:

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Autism (ASC)
  • Other behavioural difficulties

You will be working alongside the classroom teachers and senior leaders to help create a nurturing, supportive classroom environment.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A patient, resilient, and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting young people
  • SEN(D) experience in or out of an educational setting
  • SEMH experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Comfortable working across different age groups
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely

 

Working Hours/Benefits:

  • Full time, part time, and flexible availability applicants will be considered for this role
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday = 08:15 – 15:00
  • Wednesday = 08:15 – 16:00
  • Teaching Personnel offers its educators over 10 SEN training courses which are free of charge, plus plenty more with a generous discount!
  • 12.07% Holiday Pay
  • Please note, this role is Term-Time Only
