Teaching Assistant

This school is a secondary (11 – 16 years) Special School for students with complex learning difficulties. Some have additional sensory impairment, physical difficulties or medical needs, and others are identified as being within the autistic spectrum. All are considered to be ‘vulnerable’. The School provides for up to 180 students and all students admitted to the school have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

To really thrive in this role, you must have experience working with children or adults with special needs. We will also consider those with personal experience in this area. We will also consider applicants who have experience working with children in a different setting.

You must also:

• Be playful, kind and receptive
• Have passion and enthusiasm to see pupils achieve their best potential
• Be dedicated to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support
• Be comfortable to support with personal care
• Have good interpersonal skills and confidence
• Be punctual and reliable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
