Learning Support Assistant
Location: Risca
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30
Pay: £11.85 per hour
Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in Risca. We are looking for an educator who is dedicated, reliable and passionate about working with children. The purpose of this role will be to support various children within the key stage 2 department of the school.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To support various children throughout the school day which could be either on a 1:1 basis or within smaller groups based in the classroom
- To motivate and support the pupils throughout all curriculum based activities
- Support the class teacher with behaviour management within the classroom and rest of the school grounds
- Support children who require 1:1 support when needed
- Assist the class teacher with the set up of the classroom every morning and assist with getting the classroom ready for the following day
- Support the class teacher with any administrative tasks such as photocopying, making resources and display boards
- Adhere to all safeguarding policies
- Supervise the children at break and lunch times according to the weekly rota
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced child only DBS certificate which is on the annual subscription to the update service
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council
- 2 Professional based references which are in line with our reference policy
- Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification (Free via Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
