We're Hiring: Year 6 Teaching Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Position: Teaching Assistant – Year 6
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a supportive, enthusiastic, and motivated individual with a passion for helping children achieve their best? We’re looking for a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team in Portsmouth.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the Year 6 class teacher to:

Support pupils with their learning in class, in small groups, or one-to-one
-
Help prepare pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments (SATs)
-
Assist in delivering engaging and challenging lessons
-
Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
-
Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has experience working in a Key Stage 2 classroom (ideally Year 6)
-
Is confident supporting learning in English and Maths
-
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
-
Has a calm, patient, and positive approach to working with children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
