Teaching Personnel currently working with a number of alternative provisions who are looking to consider new Teaching Assistants for roles starting in September. We are looking for people based in the Nottingham area, specifically in the Stapleford, Bulwell, Hucknall and the inner City.


Your role would be working 1:1 on a personalised timetable with up to ten students in a week. You are required to have your own vehicle in order to transport the students to the venue and there you would complete subject based work with the student.

Your role would be to create resources following schemes of work which are differentiated to the students needs and learning ability (although some resources will be available and you will have the direct support of a line manager). You would then be required to deliver this work. You must have previous experience with lesson planning and delivery of at least two years.

The provision supports students aged 5 - 19 years old, this includes 1:1 support as well as small group support.

You must have a full driving license and be happy to travel. You must also be willing to apply for or currently have business insurance.


The ideal candidate would have:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with children
  • Full Driving License and willing to upgrade to Business insurance
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or a Degree
  • Previous experience in an education, youth or residential setting
  • Additional CPD such as Autism Awareness, Team Teach (Desired but not essential)
  • A nurturing and calming attitude
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or BSL (Desirable but NOT essential)
  • Special Educational Needs experience within a school setting
  • Personal experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • A sports, Psychology or Dance background
  • The ability to inspire and engage students
  • Experience planning, preparing and delivering lessons
  • A valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one (Essential)
  • Up to date safeguarding training (Essential) (Can be provided at no cost)

This role would be working Monday - Friday and have the approximate hours of 08:30 - 16:00
