Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a welcoming primary school within the EX31 area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
The EX31 postcode area covers Barnstaple, Instow, Bishops Tawton, Fremington, and surrounding villages, making this a convenient role for candidates living in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to students with SEN, ensuring their learning needs are met
- Assist the class teacher in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support the emotional and social development of pupils through one-to-one and small group interventions
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, ensuring they are achieving their full potential
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them to thrive
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
