Job Title: Part-Time Teaching Assistants – Ideal for BEd Students

Are you currently studying a BEd or education-related degree and looking to gain valuable classroom experience while you complete your studies?
We are recruiting part-time Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Plymouth. This role is ideal for students who want flexible work alongside their university timetable while gaining practical experience in a primary school environment.
Several schools are looking for additional support throughout the week, offering flexible working days and valuable hands-on experience to help you develop your teaching skills.
The Role:
• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons
• Working with small groups of pupils and occasionally on a one-to-one basis
• Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation
• Supporting children with a range of learning needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment
• Gaining valuable classroom experience to support your future teaching career
This role is ideal if you are:
• A BEd or education student
• Looking for part-time or flexible work around your studies
• Interested in building experience in a primary school setting
• Considering a future career in teaching
Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with children and/or within UK schools (desirable but not essential for education students)
• A valid DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to complete a new DBS application
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A proactive, reliable and flexible approach
