The role of a Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher, assist pupils with their work and provide a caring, empathetic and non-judgemental support system for the pupils and the school.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be expected to work on a 1:1 and small group basis, often with pupils who have additional needs and / or challenging behaviours. Your role will be to assist them in their work whilst providing emotional support for pupils who are struggling, keeping professional boundaries at all times yet building a strong rapport with the students.

I work with a School based in the Leyland, Lancashire area and they are seeking a hard working, empathetic, caring, resilient and confident Teaching Assistant to join their growing team. You will be expected to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with pupils who are often disengaged from education and quite challenging in their behaviours.
The School specifically caters for pupils who are no longer in mainstream education, this can be down to their behaviour or the additional needs they have. The pupils in this School often have Autism, ADHD, ODD or SEMH Difficulties.
The right candidate for this role will be someone who comes from a background in working with children or adults with additional needs, or, a graduate of Psychology, Disability Studies and/or Criminology and similar courses.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
