Age Range: 11–16 mixed comprehensive school (approx. 1000 students)

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support students’ learning and development across a range of subjects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to helping young people succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to teachers and students.
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials.
• Support individual students or small groups to ensure progress.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Qualities

A Teaching Assistant should demonstrate:

• Excellent communication skills – able to engage with students and staff effectively.
• Patience and empathy – understanding the needs of diverse learners.
• Adaptability – able to respond to changing classroom situations.
• Strong organisational skills – managing tasks and supporting lesson delivery.
• Teamwork – working collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Desirable

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of SEN support strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
