Contract – Part Time and Full Time

Are you a supportive, enthusiastic, and motivated individual who loves helping children learn and grow? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Hedge End is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a real difference in the classroom.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting.
• A positive, patient approach with a genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Flexibility to support a range of learning needs across the class.
• Reliability, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude to supporting teaching and learning.
• A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).

Your Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering inspiring, engaging, and inclusive lessons.
• Provide classroom and small-group support to help pupils access their learning.
• Assist in preparing teaching materials and maintaining a positive, organised learning environment.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Contribute to a caring, collaborative school community where every child is valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
