Teaching Assistant Opportunity –Southampton Primary School
Contract - Part Time and Full Time
Start date - January 2026
We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to join one of our friendly and inclusive primary schools in West End. If you’re passionate about helping children learn, grow and thrive, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You Bring
- Experience supporting children in a primary school or similar educational environment
- A positive, patient and empathetic approach to learning and behaviour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build great relationships with pupils and staff
- Flexibility to support a variety of learning needs and classroom situations
- Reliability, enthusiasm and a proactive mindset
- A relevant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) – desirable but not essential
Your Role in the Classroom
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support, including for pupils with additional or special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
- Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a positive, stimulating learning environment
- Encourage positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence
- Work closely with staff to create a safe, caring and inspiring school experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
