Year 2 Teaching Assistant Required from September

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Great Eccleston from September 2026.

This exciting opportunity will see you working within a Year 2 classroom, supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and helping pupils to achieve their full potential. The school is known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong community values, and commitment to creating a positive learning environment for all children.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the Year 2 classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide both whole-class and small-group support, helping to ensure all pupils remain engaged and make excellent progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide individual support where required.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a love of learning.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • Is confident supporting pupils across a range of abilities.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Has a positive, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
