Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Accrington

Location: Accrington, Lancashire
Job Type: Full-time / Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Accrington, working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, helping them to access education and reach their full potential.


‍ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Support with classroom management and daily routines

✅ Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN
  • Strong understanding of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
