Are you experienced or looking to start to get into a Teaching Assistant role?

The School and Job:

Teaching Personnel have a long-standing relationship with a SEN School in Frome who provides education for approximately 80 pupils who have complex and severe learning needs. All of their pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan and they have a very wide range of abilities within their pupil population. The school is situated on the outskirts of Frome within ‘green’ and spacious grounds. Over recent years they have completed major updates to learning spaces, specialist resource areas and their playground.

As a SEN TA you will be working closely with students who require additional support in a variety of different school lessons. When working with students that have special needs, you are responsible for making all work assessable according to the needs of each individual whilst also working on both academic and social skills. You may be responsible for delivering individualised learning as directed from teacher.

The most important trait that prospective applicants should have is an engaging personality and a willingness to help. Applicants with a good attitude to work and the ability to be pro-active will thrive in this SEN school.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • SEN/Autism experience with children or adults
  • A passion and enthusiasm to see pupils achieve their best potential 
  • Dedication to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Enjoys a challenge

We are able to consider candidates who can work full time or part time. Working hours are 08:50 - 15:40.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
