Are you passionate about working in education and supporting young learners in the classroom? Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain more hands-on classroom experience, Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for full-time temporary Teaching Assistant roles in primary schools across Exeter and surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your confidence in the classroom, support pupils’ learning, and work alongside experienced teaching professionals in a flexible and supportive environment.

Role Overview:

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

• Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils to reinforce learning

• Assist with phonics, reading, writing, numeracy and wider curriculum areas

• Provide additional support for pupils with SEN or behavioural needs

• Help maintain a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment

Ideal for:

• Individuals with experience working with children in schools, nurseries or other settings

• Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable experience before securing a teaching post

• Graduates or students pursuing a career in education

• Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable individuals with a genuine interest in child development

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Flexibility to travel to schools across Exeter and nearby areas

• A proactive, team-focused mindset and a willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
