Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Didsbury Primary School
Start Date: After February Half Term
Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a welcoming primary school in Didsbury, seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in their career and make a real impact on pupils’ learning and development.
About the Role
As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with class teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, lead interventions, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering lessons across the primary curriculum
- Lead small group interventions and, when required, whole-class sessions
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting support as needed
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- HLTA qualification or equivalent (Level 4 or above)
- Proven experience in a primary school setting
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A patient, nurturing approach to supporting children
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunities
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., autism, dyslexia, speech and language needs)
- Familiarity with educational technology to enhance learning
- A proactive, flexible approach to meeting diverse pupil needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
