We have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join an “outstanding” school in the BB7 area of Lancashire. The role is to provide maternity cover for two-terms commencing Monday 8th January 2024 until Friday 19th July 2024. The required hours will be agreed as 8:45am-3:20pm Monday-Friday.
The role purpose requires the successful candidate to engage with learning activities and programmes to aid curriculum enhancement and provide support for individuals or small groups. Therefore, it is essential that the successful candidate can create a positive atmosphere and is a passionate and caring individual that is able to motivate students to perform to the best of their ability.
The role requires:
- The candidate to be able to carry out effective 1 to 1 session with selected students who need additional support.
- The candidate to remain calm in difficult situations where challenging behaviour may be present.
- Have clear communication to assist students with any catch-up activities or additional set work.
- The candidate should be able to promote independent learning and behaviours as well for learning.
- The candidate to have experience working in an education setting with secondary students is desirable.
Relevant skills / qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification in both English and Maths of grade A*-C (or equivalent)
- A TA qualification or equivalent is desirable, however experience working with children is essential.
- A good knowledge of safeguarding rules and regulations.
- A dedicated, hard-working individual.
- Excellence patience is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
