Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you a passionate individual, looking to work with SEN pupils and support them to overcome barriers to education such as Anxiety and Mental Health?

This vacancy is open to Students, Graduates, Healthcare Workers, Support Workers, Counsellors, Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, and those with personal experience of managing Autism, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour.

If so, apply to work with us today! We are actively recruiting for several long-term teaching assistant positions available at a few of our partnered schools in the Essex area. The schools will be hoping to take the successful candidates onto a permanent contract, following an introductory period with Teaching Personnel.

Together with the education provider, we are seeking keen and motivated individuals, who are willing to get ‘stuck in’ from the get-go. If you are looking to begin or continue their career within the education sector, this could be the school for you!

If successful, you will be working with pupils either in a SEN provision from ages 5 -19 years or within a secondary school with ages of 11-16/18 years. You will be part of a very supportive and welcoming team who work hard to encourage and support the learning and development of pupils in their school.

The pupils you will work with all have either SEMH and/or autism, which means you will need to manage very challenging and disruptive behaviours on a regular basis. Class sizes are much smaller than the rest of the school and ratios of support staff to pupils are high – due to the needs and requirements outlined on each pupil’s EHCP. No two days will be the same at work; one day you could be working 1:1 and the next in a class of 5-8 pupils with different needs and abilities.

Teaching Personnel can offer you a wide range of CPD courses in SEN, to support you in your career. Courses include Teaching Assistant Diplomas, Child Psychology and Understanding Autism.
