Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the centre of Cardiff. The position will be full-time, working alongside a class in KS2 and working with a child on a 1:1 basis. The ideal candidate will be confident working with children with varied needs and abilities, to ensure each child has the same opportunity to develop. There may be instances of challenging behaviour when working with children on a 1:1 basis, therefore good behaviour management will be required.

Main duties required:

• Confident providing 1:1 support to children with additional learning needs
• Ability to complete intervention work with small groups of children, or on an individual basis.
• On hand to always support the teacher and children support in the classroom
• Good classroom control and behaviour management

What you will need:

• Enhanced DBS (Child Only) checks must be completed before the role will commence – (Teaching Personnel can help you with this!)
• EWC registration - mandatory requirement in Wales.
• Experience personally or in a working environment with children (desirable).
