Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit a dedicated, experienced, and Welsh-speaking Primary School Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the centre of Cardiff!

Foundation Phase Class (Welsh Medium)
Location – Cardiff
Hours – Full time
Start Date – May 2026

We are currently recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join a class in the Foundation Phase in a Welsh-medium Primary School based in the centre of Cardiff. The role will be full-time and will start in May 2026. 

The successful candidate will be experienced working with children, have a passion for working with children, and a strong understanding of the Welsh curriculum. Fluency in Welsh is essential, as lessons will be delivered primarily through the medium of Welsh.

The role will include supporting the children with learning, intervention work and working as part of a team with the teacher and teaching assistants in the class. The school prides itself on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment and encourages teachers to bring their own ideas and teaching approaches into the classroom.

Successful Teacher Criteria:

• Fluent Welsh speaker (essential)
• Enthusiastic and confident when supporting the class
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
• Excellent communication skills and strong behaviour management
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Requirement Criteria:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate
• EWC registration – mandatory requirement in Wales
