Job description

 

Are you someone who thrives on energy, movement and motivation? Do you love the idea of combining education with sport and activity to inspire young learners?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, sporty Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 class — someone who can bring lessons to life and get pupils excited about being active, engaged, and confident.

This is the perfect role for someone who doesn’t want to sit still all day and is ready to make a real impact both in the classroom and on the playground.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
  • Leading and encouraging sports, games, and active learning sessions
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, both academically and socially
  • Helping create a fun, safe, and structured environment during break times
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, resources, and behaviour management
  • Acting as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, resilience, and confidence

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for sport, fitness, and working with children
  • Brings a positive, energetic, and proactive attitude every day
  • Can build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is confident managing groups of children and keeping them engaged
  • Works well as part of a team and uses their initiative

Perfect for candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Sports Coaching or Personal Training
  • PE or Sports Science degrees (current students or graduates)
  • Youth work or community sports programmes
  • Teaching Assistants with a sporty, active approach
  • Recent graduates looking to gain experience in schools
  • Anyone with experience leading clubs, teams, or physical activities for children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
