Teaching Assistant
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Are you a passionate individual, looking to work with SEN pupils and support them to overcome barriers to education such as Challenging Behaviour, Anxiety and Mental Health?
If so, our welcoming partner school in Bury St. Edmunds would like to meet you! Together, we are actively recruiting for a passionate educator to join the growing specialist school on a long-term basis. The Head Teacher is hoping to offer a permanent contract to the right candidate, following an introductory period with Teaching Personnel.
Teaching Personnel can offer you a wide range of CPD courses in SEN, to support you in your career. Courses include Teaching Assistant Diplomas, Child Psychology and Understanding Autism.
For this role, we are seeking keen and motivated individuals, who are willing to get ‘stuck in’ from the get-go. If you are looking to begin or continue their career within the education sector, this could be the school for you! With excellent on-site IT facilities and future refurbishment planned, it is a great time to join this supportive team.
If successful, you will be working with pupils between the ages of 5-16 years. The young people at the school all have either SEMH and/or autism, which means you will need to manage very challenging and disruptive behaviours on a regular basis. Class sizes are much smaller than a mainstream school and ratios of support staff to pupils are high – due to the needs and requirements outlined on each pupil’s EHCP. No two days will be the same at work; one day you could be working 1:1 and the next in a class of 5-8 pupils with different needs and abilities.
If you would like to know more, get in touch with the branch on 01223 778494 or send over your CV to sophia.binns@teachingpersonnel, to be contacted. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
This vacancy is open to Students, Graduates, Healthcare Workers, Support Workers, Counsellors, Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, and those with personal experience of managing Autism, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
