Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Temporary (Burgess Hill, West Sussex)
 £13.87 per hour | Primary School | Start date: ASAP
A welcoming primary school in Burgess Hill is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The position is temporary to start, with the possibility of extension based on performance and school needs.
Duties include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group SEND support across Key Stages 1 and 2.
 - Assisting in implementing individual learning plans (ILPs) with clear, measurable outcomes.
 - Working collaboratively with class teachers, the Inclusion Manager (SENCO), parents, and other professionals.
 - Supporting inclusive learning in a positive, patient, and engaging environment.
 - Promoting children’s learning, social development, and behaviour management in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
 - Maintaining confidentiality, flexibility, and adaptability within an inclusive school culture.
 - Supporting therapy and intervention programmes where appropriate.
 
Ideal candidate:
- Minimum one year’s relevant experience supporting children with SEND, including non-school settings.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a nurturing, proactive approach.
 - Commitment to fostering positive and inclusive learning environments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
