Job description

A welcoming mainstream secondary school is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team from February in Bournemouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and dedicated TA who is passionate about supporting young people in a secondary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide effective in-class support and help pupils engage positively with their learning.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 within the classroom

  • Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and progress

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs in line with EHCPs where required

  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Has experience working in a UK secondary school setting

  • Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Is patient, proactive, and committed to supporting student progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
