Make a Lasting Impact – SEN Teaching Assistant (Blandford Forum)


Blandford Forum | £13.75/hour | Immediate Start

 

Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning? A nurturing SEN School near Blandford Forum is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing consistent emotional and academic support to pupils aged 4–11
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Supporting pupils with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech difficulties
  • Building trusting relationships that foster resilience and self-esteem
  • Maintaining a safe and vigilant environment in line with safeguarding policies

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in SEN or mental health support roles
  • Comfortable working in a PRU setting with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
  • Skilled in de-escalation and positive behaviour support
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Driving licence required if living outside Blandford Forum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
