Teaching Assistant

A school based in an affluent catchment area of Trafford in South Manchester is looking for a Teaching Assistant on a full-time temporary basis starting in February. The school itself is based close to a tram stop providing quick access into and out of the city centre. The school is also reachable via bus from the surrounding areas and easily by car as it is situated close to the Manchester ring road. The school is an 11-18 all-boys school that places a heavy emphasis on producing courteous, smart and ambitious young people who are ready to excel in life outside of school.

The role will involve aiding the class teacher within lessons by working with smaller groups of students who require additional support. These pupils need help with basic understanding of tasks and completing work within a timely fashion so that they do not fall behind the rest of the class in terms of the unit of work and learning objectives. The candidate should be able to motive students and build their confidence by helping them to achieve their goals within the classroom which will make it easier for them attempt new challenges in the future.

• £77 - £85 per day depending on experience.
• Contract from February to the end of the school year.
• Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm).

The ideal candidate will be confident within a classroom setting and will have prior experience of either working in a school as a Teaching Assistant or in a capacity that would provide transferrable skills appropriate for the role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
