Teaching Assistant - Hackney

A special needs school in Hackney are currently seeking a teaching assistant who has experience supporting students with complex special educational needs to provide additional assistance in their PMLD unit for student who have multiple learning difficulties with majority of students non verbal and wheel chair bound . Each student within the unit has a tailored education health care plan that must be followed accordingly. As a teaching assistant you will need to provide 1:1 support, support with personal care, nappy changing needs . Knowledge of PECS and Makaton will be beneficial for this role. Moving and Handling is a desired training and would put you at an advantage to securing role however not essential as the school provide onsite training to equip you with the correct skills.

The school is based in Hackney and they look for individuals who have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and are interested in making a positive impact on a student's life. All students attending the school have a statement of special educational needs, catering to students with autism, PMLD, Hearing and Visual impairments and other complex needs.
