Teaching Assistant - Ealing Broadway

Are you a confident graduate looking for experience in preparation for a career in teaching, therapy or psychology?

If you are open to developing your knowledge of supporting emotional and behavioural difficulties educationally or pastorally we want to hear from you!

A small primary and secondary school in West Ealing are looking to appoint graduates for an academic year long contract working with pupils who have struggled in mainstream school settings. Due to this a confident academic and caring individual is required who will be focused on their overall wellbeing.

Graduate teaching assistants will support and assess pupils with their learning and behaviour plans which "motivate pupils to learn, as it is tailored to their needs, interests and career aspirations" (Ofsted 2018). Confidence in Maths and English is vital as pupils will be working towards GCSEs and further qualifications.

Some pupils may display challenging behaviour due to a range of difficulties from learning, family life and social interaction. Having a positive outlook and being able to help pupils see another perspective for their future is key.

  • Primary and Secondary School in West Ealing, seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants
  • Academic Year Contract Starting January 2019 with permanent contract offers
  • Full-time position Monday to Friday 8:15 - 4pm school term time
  • Supporting pupils with Maths, English, PSHE and/or technology
  • Working with students with low to high level behavioural difficulties
  • Receive on-going specialist training and support from dedicated staff and senior leaders
  • A UK degree qualification is required along with GCSEs of grade C or above in Maths, English or Science.

Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is extremely rewarding as it will give you an opportunity to gain experience working with specialists (therapists, teachers and social workers) and supporting children on both a educational, pastoral and social level.
