SEN Teaching Assistant - Dorking

Location: South East England, Surrey, Dorking

Salary: £385+ per week

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate, proactive teaching assistants to join our team in helping young people to access the school curriculum and wider world. Our specialist provision provides additional support and guidance for pupils with SEMH and associated additional needs needs. The school strives to equip pupils with skills and knowledge to give them the best opportunity for success in life. Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with additional needs (such as Autism, SEMH, PDA, ADHD etc)
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support

Experience and Attributes:

  • Understanding of SEN and experience working with children with diverse needs
  • Previous experience working in a classroom setting
  • A god understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
