Teaching Assistant - Cardiff - September Start

We are currently looking for 2 Teaching Assistants for the new academic year starting in September 2019. This diverse Large Secondary School currently has approximately 1800 Pupils on role and was rated 'Excellent' on their latest ESTYN Report which recognised Many strengths, including significant examples of sector-leading practice

The Headteacher has a clear strategic vision, shared by all staff, that is based on ensuring that all pupils achieve their best and this is done through continuous support given to staff, due to this fact the school would require you to take part in inset days to provide you with continual professional development throughout the school term.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in this multi-cultural school would give you the opportunity to develop in to a well rounded Teaching Assistant as you would need to embrace the schools inclusion for all ethos. Within the school you will find specialist provisions for Behaviour and an extension of the inclusion for all attitude which ensures high levels of support for pupils with Special Education Needs.

The day to day duties of a Teaching Assistant would include supporting a number of individuals through a number of subjects in order for them to stay on track and focussed on the work being delivered by the Teacher.

The Role

  • Full Time Position - September 2019 Start date
  • Position for 1 school year with the possibility of being offered a school contract
  • Mon - Fri School hours 8:15am-3:15pm
  • Opportunities to support with subject specific interventions
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs/behavioural support required
