Teaching Assistant required in Stockport- Behaviour Support

Teaching Personnel are currently assisting a large, mixed secondary school in Stockport with their recruitment needs as they wish to appoint a teaching assistant specialising in behaviour support ASAP. The role is to support the learning of disengaged pupils and those with additional learning needs with their studies. This is full time temporary Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant post, required until the end of academic year initially.

As the summer examinations are fast approaching, the secondary school in Stockport is looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive support team as soon as possible to provide extra interventional support to identified pupils with a range of KS3 and KS4 subjects.

The incoming teaching assistant will be working closely with pupils who have some behavioural issues and SEN which means they struggle to engage with lessons. As a result, the role of behaviour support teaching assistant would be best suited for someone who has previous experience working with challenging behaviour and who strives to help pupils reach their full potential.

Overview of the Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant role:

  • Full time teaching assistant role at a Stockport secondary school
  • Starting ASAP until the end of July initially
  • Supporting the learning of pupils with challenging behaviour / SEN
  • A testing but extremely rewarding role for those with previous experience
  • Earn up to £1200 per month
  • Opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Stockport

Your role as a behaviour support teaching assistant will require you provide extra interventional support to identified pupils in the classroom, in smaller groups and on a 1:1 basis when required. You will act as a positive learning mentor to the pupils and so the ideal candidate for the role will be patient, understanding and have previous experience in roles such as youth work, sports coaching or social care.

In terms of location, the secondary school requiring a teaching assistant for behaviour support is situated just outside of Stockport town centre and is very accessible for those who live in and around south / central Manchester by car or public transport.

If you are looking for a new challenge and the role of teaching assistant specialising in behaviour support sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply by submitting your CV below!
