Teaching Assistant (Behaviour) - Rochdale

A specialist secondary school situated in Oldham are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can work within their ASC unit. They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is able to start as soon as possible and the role will involve working until July 2020. The successful Teaching Assistants hours will be Monday- Friday 8.30 - 3.30pm.

The School itself is a secondary special needs setting which caters for pupils aged 11 - 19. All the pupils who attend the setting have a form of SEN which could include: ASC, profound learning difficulties or significant interaction or communication issues.

Your role as a teaching assistant will involve working within the schools key stage 3 ASC base and you will be working directly with pupils who have both mild and serve ASC. Due to the nature of the needs of the children the ideal teaching assistant will have experience working with children and young people who can behave in a violate manner. This can be demonstrated through: experience in a PRU, experience in a children's residential home, experience in an SEN school or experience in a personal capacity.

As a Teaching Assistant you could:

  • Earn up to £300 pound per week (dependent on experience)
  • Gain access to specialist CPD such as a team teach
  • Work within a friendly and vibrant school
  • Become part of a friendly team
