Teaching Assistant (ALN)
Role: Additional Needs Support
Pay: from £385/week
Schedule: Full Time, Mon – Fri (8:15 – 3:30)
Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
*Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to work with Secondary aged pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in Barry*
The Role
Your role will be varied day to day, including 1-2-1 support with pupils aged between 11 and 16 with ALN, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Behaviour, Emotional & Social Difficulties. You will be based in the main school; supporting the pupils as they attend their lessons and using your problem-solving skills to find ways to engage pupils in the lesson content in the best way for them. Your role will involve developing positive relationships with the pupils you support; assisting them in accessing the curriculum in the best way for them; and offering emotional and behavioural support. There will be a range of classroom-based and outdoor learning involved.
** This role begins with a 1-month trial period, giving you a fantastic opportunity to experience the school and build your skills within the role before undertaking a longer-term role. **

What we need from you
- 2 X professional references
- Enhanced DBS check and registration with the EWC (support can be provided with this)
- Eligibility to work within the UK.
- Previous experience working with children (Desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
